Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– It turns out Jonathan Ross and Ian Churchill are teaming up for a new book titled “The Revenger” coming in January. Little is known about the book, but I do have to say, I really enjoy Ross as a writer, so odds are I’ll be checking this book out.
– Over at the Hugo Awards this past weekend, “Saga” picked up an award for being the best graphic story while “The Avengers” won best dramatic presentation. Neither award was surprising, but they were both deserved. Congrats!
– Over at TCJ, much ado has been made about a recent small press post Frank Santoro made and the absolute avalanche of negative sentiment towards the work of a cartoonist named Jason Karns. Accusations of overt racism and worse were sent towards Karns, who weighed in with a litany of replies that frankly didn’t do him any favors. While I don’t have really that much to say on the subject as I’ve never read Karns’ work – like MANY of the commenters over at TCJ admitted to as they disparaged his work – I do want to say that I believe people are far too quick to label things as racist, sexist or godonlyknowswhatist lately. Once upon a time, you really could have said “Blazing Saddles” was racist, especially without watching it. But looks can be deceiving, and dammit, give something a chance before destroying it. I know it’s easier to be upset about something than giving it a chance, but this whole phase of burying something under a label before you try it out needs to go.
That said, I will certainly not be reading his work because I truly do not enjoy his art. That’s as far as I can go Jason. Sorry about that.
– Newsarama delivers a crazy theory that lays out the entire plot to “Avengers 2: Age of Ultron,” and the best we can say is at least it doesn’t have a slideshow taking us through the whole thing.
