The Rundown: “Who is Jake Ellis?” Gets a Director, Edgar Wright’s “Ant-Man” Has Footage Leak, and more

– Not only is “Who is Jake Ellis?”, the Image series from writer Nathan Edmondson and artist Tonci Zonjic, set to become a film, it even has a director already. David Yates, the frankly outstanding director of the last four Harry Potter films, is set to bring this story to life, and given his gifts as a visual driven director, I’m very pleased with the choice. I have to imagine Edmondson and Zonjic are tremendously stoked. I wonder though, is there an option to pick up “Where is Jake Ellis?” on the table as well? I suppose we’ll find out the answer if it does well.

– Jock’s Savage Wolverine #9 came out this week (the first comic he both wrote and illustrated), and his son put together a little YouTube teaser for those who didn’t pick it up. It’s a fun little video with great animation and an awesome song from Foals in “Balloon.” Check it out.

– Valiant, Boom!, Image and Dark Horse are facing off in a road challenge at New York Comic Con, titled “King of the Road“, and it sounds like a whole lot of fun.

– The Beat continues its study on gender breakdowns of comic fans according to Facebook stats.
