Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– Zack Snyder tries to give reason to the mass deaths at the end of “Man of Steel,” and I’m not going to lie, his explanation makes it seem even more stupid.
– Word to the wise, you’re not going to want to miss Hellboy: The Midnight Circus from Mike Mignola and Duncan Fegredo when it drops. Want to get an even cooler version of it for the same price? Page 45 is going to be selling copies that have a custom Fegredo drawn bookplate signed and number to 150 by Fegredo himself. This is too awesome, and should not be missed.
– We interviewed the Itty Bitty Hellboy team of Art Baltazar and Franco recently, but when we did, we weren’t drawn into the interview by Baltazar and Franco themselves. Huffington Post’s Dave Scheidt was and we are terribly envious.
– The Brooklyn Book Festival is coming in September, and on the 22nd they’re going to feature an incredible list of comic creators as special guests. It includes but isn’t limited to Art Spiegelman, Paul Pope, Jeff Smith, Lucy Knisley, Faith Erin Hicks and more, and it’s an outrageous collection of talented comic folks. If you’re in the area, please check this out if only to make me terribly envious.
– Over at Criterion, cartoonist and noted film buff Kazu Kibuishi shares his top ten Criterion Collection films. Kurosawa!
