Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.
– Kieron Gillen and Ryan Kelly’s “Three” gets a preview, and if anything, it shows us that just when we think someone can’t get better, Kelly’s art steps it up a notch and thanks are certainly out to Jordie Bellaire’s colors as well. This book is going to be good.
– I hate to brag, but Declan Shalvey did a commission of Fear Agent’s Heath Huston for me for New York Comic Con, and it is next level amazing.
– This con experience story from The Beat makes me sad, if only because George Perez is a freaking saint. More people should love on the legends.
– It’s definitely getting a lot of controversy surrounding its arrival, but having just reread the book, I really can’t wait for Ender’s Game. Heat Vision has a look at a new TV trailer, and it’s looking good.
– James Tynion IV is going to be doing Batman commissions at NYCC for $1. That is an amazing deal, until you realize he is a writer who doesn’t seem to have a hidden talent, but I imagine his commissions are hilarious and well worth a pick-up.
– Have I mentioned recently we’re having a party on Friday at NYCC with Image Comics? With proceeds from the door going to the Hero Initiative, and guests including Greg Rucka and Michael Lark, Kieron Gillen and Ryan Kelly, Amy Reeder and Brandon Montclare, and more? Please join, and if you do, come up and give me a high five and I’ll buy you a drink (excluding all Multiversity writers!).
