Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– Cartoonist C. Spike Trotman shares her story of “This is Everything I Know” for her 24-hour comic day comic, telling readers about how we’re in a comic renaissance IF you know how to leverage your work and your career, and if you’re smart in the process. Not only is it a great walkthrough on the intricacies of comic life, but it’s also just a top notch comic that is well worth a read.
– Could as many as four new shows and a mini-series for television be coming from Marvel Films? So it seems, if the reports from Deadline are to be believed. Comics Alliance has a bit more on that idea, but here’s hoping these others are better than Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Who am I kidding, of course they will be. Rarely will shows be that mediocre. That said, if one of them is an Agent Carter series with Hayley Atwell? Sign me up!
– Let’s pour one out for our fallen homies: DC cancels Vibe and Katana, much to the surprise of damn near no one.
– Over at The Beat, they have news of George Perez’s continuing recovery – or attempts to – from the issues with his eyes that plague him. The news is a bummer, but I wish the best for George in his recovery. He’s truly one of the nicest and most talented men in comics, and it was amazing to read about how he was still out their sketching at NYCC this weekend.
– While it isn’t my favorite work of their oeuvre, Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie’s Phonogram IS excellent and should be read by more people. For those that are digital readers that haven’t read it, do we have the deal for you. ComiXology is having a Phonogram sale on both of the original series and its follow-up The Singles Club where the individual issues are just 99 cents and the collections are $4.99. That’s an amazing deal, even if you’re just a fan looking for digital copies as you prepare yourself for Immaterial Girl and its eventual arrival.
– Finally, on a personal note, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who I got to talk to at NYCC this past weekend. A lot of people gave me some love for this daily news post, and I really appreciate that. It’s a post that often doesn’t get comments, but it’s good to know that this isn’t just something I’m writing every day for my own entertainment. Not that I’d mind entirely, but it was still very welcome feedback!
