Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

Over at Bleeding Cool, the Villains Month drama continues as they have the story about creative teams not being featured on the covers and Yanick Paquette’s powerful reaction – and then retraction of his reaction – to that reveal. I saw that and was a little surprised it hadn’t been a bigger deal before, but Paquette and Chris Burnham’s explanation – that they had to be printed far ahead of time do the lenticular nature – makes a whole lot of sense. Still, has there been anything in comics that has drawn so much contempt in recent memory as Villains Month?

Oh wait, literally everything DC has done.

– Actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson has been cast as Amanda Waller for the next season of “Arrow,” as the character continues to be pushed to the forefront of the DCU. Granted, she’s a total badass that makes complete sense as a central figure, so…well done DC!

– Jeff Smith shares a look at the newfangled RASL hardcover, and holy crap you guys, it looks beautiful. Buy one. Buy ten! Buy RASL!

– Brooklyn Brewery has gotten into a habit of redesigning the look of its beer Brooklyn Defender just in time for NYCC, and this year is no exception as they hired Cliff Chiang to do just that. Robot 6 has the story, and for those Chiang and beer enthusiasts, it’s well worth checking out.

– Amber Nash of “Archer” fame is doing a Pam Poovey cosplay contest with the winner getting the dolphin hand puppet from the show (or rather, what it is based off of), and the results so far have been freaking amazing.

8-bit Super Mario meets Magritte. Should I need to say anything else to get you to click?
