Ryan Reynolds As Green Lantern

EW has released the cover to their latest ComicCon special issue, featuring right in the front Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern. The suit, which is entirely CGI throughout the entire film, looks rather different from it’s comic counterpart other than the big symbol in the center. It’s all green and rather veiny, and is more similar to Ion than it is Green Lantern. All in all, from a fanboy stance and a first look, I’d say it looks rather odd.

However, the team behind the movie is pretty impressive, with Martin Campbell directing, Mark Strong as Sinestro, and Geoff Johns working behind the scenes to keep it close to the book. I assume there will be more news about the film post SDCC, and assumedly some kind of behind closed doors footage that someone will capture on a cell phone, so when we have more we’ll be sure to share it.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
