We knew the titles, and we knew the writers, but before today, we didn’t know the artists who would help build out Vertigo’s new Sandman Universe. Thanks to Inverse‘s exclusive reveal, we now know who will illustrate the four new Sandman series launching this fall, as well as a little more about when each series will start:
- Bilquis Evely (“Wonder Woman,” “Lazarus”) will join writer Si Spurrier for the Sandman Universe’s headlining series, “The Dreaming,” which follows Lucien, the Dreaming’s librarian, and Matthew the Raven as they search for the now-missing Dream.
- Dominike “Domo” Stanton, a graduate of DC’s Talent Development Workshop and an illustrator on TV shows such as Archer, will illustrate “House of Whispers,” teaming with writer Nalo Hopkinson to tell the tale of a family that guards a rift between the Dreaming and the real world.
- Max and Sebastian Fiumara (“Four Eyes”) will help writer Dan Watters tell the tale of the devil in a small town, in the newest volume of “Lucifer.”
- And finally, artist Tom Fowler (“Rick and Morty”) and writer Kat Howard will reboot the story of young sorcerer Timothy Hunter in “Books of Magic.”
According to Inverse, “The Dreaming” and “House of Whispers” will start in September, and “Lucifer” and “Books of Magic” will launch in October, both jumping off from Aug. 8’s “The Sandman Universe” one-shot.
