This show continues to get a better and better cast, as Scott Glenn (HBO’s “The Leftovers”) has been cast as Matt Murdock’s mentor and trainer Stick in the upcoming Netflix series for Marvel’s “Daredevil”. There are a lot of important characters to Daredevil’s mythos, but Stick is amongst the very most important, as he helps Matt Murdock become the man he needs to be while also being the trainer of Murdock’s some time love interest and some time lover Elektra.
I honestly cannot imagine someone being more perfect for the role than Glenn, an actor who has had a sprawling career adding weight and gravitas to each and every role he portrays. Hell, his role as Kevin Garvey, Sr. in “The Leftovers” is more or less a variation on the guide role he’ll portray in this show (minus some of the bigger mental issues). He’s an exceptional actor, and adds another layer of pedigree to a show that almost certainly will be good if the cast is any indicator.
This show has already started filming, so it’s a bit of an eleventh hour addition, but I have to imagine Glenn and Charlie Cox (who is playing Murdock) will be filming separate from the rest of the cast. I really can’t wait to see it.
