Given the music-centric nature of the comic series, many fans have speculated that Edgar Wright’s upcoming adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim series would boast an elite mix of musicians on its soundtrack. With Radiohead’s uber-producer Nigel Godrich acting as musical curator/score composer, people really started to believe. Then rumors of Beck’s involvement started to peak around comic and music websites and fans got into a tizzy. Today Pitchfork announced the full track listing and all of our hopes were affirmed: the soundtrack rocks.

With new tracks coming from Broken Social Scene (providing the Crash and the Boys tracks!!!), Beck (writing the SEX BOB-OMB songs!) and Metric as well as tracks by Black Lips, The Rolling Stones and the titular Plumtree track that inspired it all, this soundtrack is every bit a capable match of the comic series and the much hyped upcoming film. The only disappointment is no “Clash at Demonhead” announcement, but if I’m not mistaken that’s Metric taking that role. VERY exciting.
