The big moment comic fans have been waiting on is finally here! Today, Oni Press and Bryan Lee O’Malley gave us not only the title of the final Scott Pilgrim epic, but we also got it’s release date and a first look at the cover! What did we do to deserve this embarrassment of riches? The book is going to be called Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour and it will be released July 20th of this year, much to my ever growing delight.
For those somehow not in the know (and you really should be in the know…after all Scott Pilgrim is one of the best series in the past ten years and one of my all-time favorites), Scott Pilgrim tells the tale of a 20-something slacker who wears a jacket with an Xavier Academy patch on it, lives life like its a video game, plays in a band, and is fighting his way through his girlfriend’s seven evil ex-boyfriends to earn her love. So basically the life all of us wish we were living.
Oh yeah, and apparently they’re making a movie about it directed by some guy named Edgar Wright and starring some kid named Michael Cera. If you’re into that.
We here at Multiversity Comics cannot wait for this title, and this writer himself is really hoping for Ramona to get out of the picture and for Scott and Kim Pine to get together. But that’s neither here nor there. What’s irrefutable is that this book will assuredly be a very, very entertaining one. Don’t miss it.
