Just days after its release, it was announced tonight that Scott Snyder and Jock’s supernatural Image Comics title “Wytches” is going to be adapted to be a film through Brad Pitt’s Plan B production house, which itself is set up at New Regency. From Deadline, it seems Plan B’s been all about the comic films lately, recently acquiring Charles Burns’ “Black Hole” as well, but this is especially big news given its timing. These types of deals aren’t ones that just happen overnight, so odds are, this deal has been in the works for a good while, and certainly before the release of the comic itself.
Either way, congrats to Snyder and Jock. They’re two excellent creators who double as nice guys, and I’m happy to see them find a good home for their comic property. The production company who adapted “12 Years a Slave” sure as hell isn’t something to sneeze at.
More on this as it comes, which there certainly will be plenty of considering this is a major comic property in its infancy of being adapted to film.
