We here at Multiversity are huge Brian Wood fans, now having something we call “Wood Watch” in which we try and figure out what Brian Wood is going to be doing now that his DC Exclusive contract is up. One of those things is the Massive, which we had learned about before but didn’t know much about.
Now we have some information: it’s a three-part story that will be released in January 2012 in the pages of Dark Horse Presents, it features Kristian Donaldson on art (who illustrated Supermarket with Wood), and it is a story where an environmental disaster radically alters life on Earth leaving a group of surviving activists to question where to go from there.
In an interview Wood states that there may be more to the story beyond the three initial bits, but there is no mention of whether or not this will be collected, so you better grab DHP while you can. Wood also states that this is the “next step in the evolution of (his work)”, and that it’s one of 6-8 books that are “more or less ready to go,” so expect more from Wood Watch as the days go by.
