Announced at the Creator Owned panel at SDCC, Joe Keating and Frank Cho are teaming up for a new book entitled Brutal.

The book, described by Cho, is about a female assassin named Stone who kills both good and bad guys for money. All the characters will have shades of gray in the book, allowing Stone easier grounds to take any sort of jobs for half a billion dollars. However, she attracts the attention of some bad folks, and the people “behind the superpeople” decide to go after her.

The series will poke fun at some of the established heroes from Marvel and DC, with every superhero and villain Stone goes after being an analogue for a more famous character. Cho and Keatinge also tease a big twist with the first issue, so keep your eyes out for that when the series comes out.

The book will be released in a series of minis, with the first mini being 4 issues at $2.99 a pop. (It’s kind of like that article we published last month about Alan Moore and Top 10).

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
