SDCC ’11: Lois Lane’s New Squeeze Is…

So we know that Superman’s parents are dead and that he is no longer with Lois Lane – but the question of who her new paramore is is obviously one of the things fans are trying to figure out before the launch in September.

Never fear, because we have the answer: it’s some guy you’ve never heard of. Going by the name of Jonathan Carroll, Lois’ new man of choice is a fellow reporter at the Daily Planet, and visually is quite the standard appeal of beauty (put a shirt on, man!). As Newsarama keenly points out, it’s basically the opposite of who Clark Kent is.

While there are still no signs of Lex Luthor in the DCnU (perhaps a role is waiting for him in Action Comics somewhere?), it doesn’t seem to off to posit that Jonathan Carroll has the potential of a villain for Superman as much as he is an antagonist for Clark Kent. However, all bets are off until the comic begins in September with Superman #1 by Perez and Merino.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
