World War Hulks is over. Fear Itself is at it’s halfway mark. Greg Pak’s epic 6-year Hulk run is coming to an end. It’s time for a new team.

So who is that team going to be? As it turns out, the new Hulk book – assumedly titled The Incredible Hulk – will be written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Marc Silvestri, and is set to start in October. The book will be begin with an arc called Hulk Assunder, and will feature Bruce Banner and the Hulk personalities at war in a very “external way” that will elaborate into the Marvel Universe. The book seems to imply that Banner will be the “villain” of the story, which is an interesting take on the relationship between the two. On top of that, it looks like the Hulk will have a beard – which is totally awesome.

The Hulk was given a teaser footage from Marvel, which can be seen below:

As well as a special video message from Jason Aaron, which can be seen below:

It is unknown whether or not the book will do anything to Jeff Parker’s Hulk, but considering that Marvel announced the next arc of the book (Hulk of Arabia) over the weekend at their Next Big Thing panel, it’s safe to assume that the book will continue to exist in it’s own realm while Aaron does his own things.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
