We’ve seen several teasers, but now we have confirmation from Variety: Guillermo del Toro is bringing his book series (co-written with Chuck Hogan) The Strain to Dark Horse to be published as three mini’s.

The books, which comprise of The Strain, The Fall, and the Night Eternal (out in October), follows the outbreak of a vampire virus which leads to a war between the vampires of old and all the new vampires. The comic adaptation will be split into three 8-issue minis beginning in December, written by David Lapham, and illustrated by Mike Huddleston, with each issue being day-and-date digital release as well.

In addition, del Toro is supervising every tiny little aspect of the adpation, so fans of the book should look forward to faithful representations of the story.

Further details will be announced tonight at the Dark Horse booth.

Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
