At the Fables panel at SDCC, Bill Willingham announced a new spinoff for the title, entitled Fairest.

Fairest will be a new ongoing set up as a “series of minis”. The first arc will deal with Sleeping Beauty and will be written by Bill Willingham and illustrated by Phil Jimenez. The second arc will be about Rapunzel and will be written by Lauren Beukes with Inaki Miranda (from Fables #99). There will also be an arc about Cinderella and written by Chris Roberson and illustrated by Shawn McManus, whose previous minis will fold into this ongoing.

The purpose of the series is that it will look at the lives of Fables characters that fit the definition of “fairest in all the land,” with some making sense to the moniker and others surprising the reader. This will be the fourth spin-off from the series (not including two graphic novels).

It’s unknown at this time when the book is set to release.

Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
