One of the highlights of the convention this year is that some of the cast of cult favorite film Firefly will be reuniting with director Joss Whedon to host a panel and a Q&A with fans. Firefly is the poster child for “cancelled before its time” shows, so many a fan are looking forward to any kind of announcement to any kind of anything at the panel. Well, here is such an announcement.
As announced at Entertainment Weekly, it looks like the reunion is part of a planned filming for a one hour TV special as part of it’s 10th anniversary. Entitled Browncoats Unite, the documentary (and panel) will be hosted by Jeff Jensen and featuring the cast of the show, footage from the panel and a brand new roundtable that hopes to answer frequently asked fan questions about the show.
Browncoats Unite will feature Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, Sean Maher, showrunner Tim Minear, and writer Jose Molina. The special will air on Science in November.
