Immediately following (well, 15 minutes later) the spotlight on Grant Morrison, DC began their panel on the upcoming changes in the Batman franchise. Included in the panel was a veritable who’s who of involved creators, from Morrison to Scott Snyder to Frazer Irving and everyone in between. Follow the cut to see some of the exciting new changes coming the Bat-Family’s way (via Newsarama).

  • Grant Morrison’s next Batman title will entitled Batman, Inc. and is inspired by the cartoon Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The title will launch in November with art by Yanick Paquette.
  • In the one-shot Batman: The Return, written by Grant Morrison, artist David Finch will redesign Batman’s costume.
  • Paul Cornell said one of the many villains in his upcoming Knight and Squire miniseries will be Richard III, who will attempt “to conquer the country through the medium of Facebook.”
  • In the Commissioner Gordon co-feature in Scott Snyder’s Detective Comics, “Gordon will kind of walk off the pages of the feature, and go into the back-up.”
  • Paul Dini’s “House of Hush” story arc will continue until either December or January.
  • Alvin Lee, who worked with Gail Simone on Deadpool in the past, will be joining her for a story arc in Birds of Prey.
  • The current Batgirl, Stephanie Brown, will be getting a car and a dog, according to writer Brian Miller.
  • Dustin Nguyen will continue to work on Streets of Gotham, as well as doing cover work for Batgirl.
  • Gail Simone claimed “this is going to be one of the best Bat-years ever.”
  • Editor Mike Marts told audiences that former Batgirl Cassandra Cain will appear in one of the Batman titles soon.
  • Scott Snyder reemphasized that his Detective Comics will truly be centered on detective-work, citing CSI as an example.
  • Marts said to be on the lookout for more Riddler stories, carefully skirting a fan’s question regardng whether or not he would be in the next Batman movie.
  • Nobody knows “what’s up with Scarecrow.”
  • Expect to see a reaction from both Bane and Deadshot at Bruce Wayne’s return.
  • Dini and Simone are talking about a possible Zatanna and Black Canary team-up.
  • Miller says that, for now, Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown will be kept separate.
  • We will see Bruce’s reaction to Tim using the Red Robin costume in the end of The Return of Bruce Wayne.
  • Following “House of Hush,” Paul Dini may return to writing one-and-dones in Streets of Gotham like he did while writing Detective Comics.
  • There will be less interaction between Stephanie Brown and the rest of the Bat-family in the following year.
