San Diego Comic Con is a rough time of year for bloggers like us. We’re a serious news site, but at the same time we’re not there and there is a lot of news coming out. So while we will not be posting any live updates or anything like that, we WILL be giving you some nice and concise lists of announcements for your persual!

Check out news and question round up after the cut!

First up we have the Mondo Marvel panel, which featured Marvel SVP – Creator and Content Development C.B. Cebulski; Arune Singh, Manager of Sales Communications; and writers Jeph Loeb, Brian Michael Bendis, Jim McCann, Dan Abnett, and Andy Lanning, and editors Mark Paniccia, Tom Brennan, and Michael Horwitz.

As far as new series go, there were several that were announced.

  • Although previously announced, we had mentions of the Loki origin mini, Captain America and the Korvac Saga, Captain America: Hail Hydra and Captain America: Fighting Avenger
  • Captain America: Man Out Of Time, by Mark Waid. The book will deal with Captain America right as he is unfrozen and he attempts to adjust to the modern day world.
  • Ultimate Thor, written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Carlos Pacheco.
  • Ultimate Doom, written by Brian Michael Bendis. This will act as the third part of his Ultimate Enemy trilogy.
  • There will be a second Strange Tales anthology.
  • Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning have a couple big announcements, with an Iron Man/Thor team up book, as well as Nova apparently becoming “the Man without Fear” (what this means for Daredevil, I just do not know). They will also be doing a post-Thanos Imperative Rocket Raccoon/Groot mini, as our latest writer showed you earlier.
  • Power Man and Iron Fist, written by Fred Van Lente and arted by Wellinton Aves. It will follow Iron Fist and the new Power Man to be introduced during Shadowland.

Marvel also did a LOT of questions, which was pretty great and interesting. Here are some highlights, thanks to Comic Book Resources:

Will Sentry stay dead? Bendis has no plans to bring him back.

Will Knowhere in Guardians of the Galaxy ever be discussed? Yes, as soon as they “get the chance to tell it.” But will Guardians of the Galaxy still be around post Thanos Imperative? DnA aren’t talking about it. They don’t want to confirm anything, because that would mean they’re ruining who makes it out alive.

Will the ever be more Nextwave? Cebulski says, “Warren knows our door’s open whenever he wants to return to these characters.” Although to be honest, I’m not sure he knows.

Loeb was attacked a bit about the Red Hulk, claiming that everything that happened was supposed to happen from day one. “Those of you who are wondering where the mustache goes, I could answer that,” Loeb joked, “but I’ll throw this back to you: when the Thing goes back to Ben Grimm, why does he have a full head of hair?”

Will the ever be another Marvel/DC crossover? Cebulski said, “Go to a DC panel tomorrow, tell them Marvel said yes, what’s your answer?”

What about the Twelve? Wil lthat ever finish? “You should ask Joe Michael Straczynski that question,” Loeb said. “You should ask him.”

When will Spider-Man and MJ get back together? “Read ‘One Moment in Time,'” Singh said, which begins this week in “Amazing” #638

Will there still be an ongoing cosmic title after Thanos Imperative? “Stay tuned,” McCann said.

What about Rom, the Space Knight? Bendis said “you will see Rom, Space Knight show up in a future Avengers story.”

Future plans for Squirrel Girl? “Ask Dan Slott,” Singh said. “He loves talking about her.”

What’s going on with the Illuminati? “Illuminati will show up in Avengers #7,” Bendis said, “they will be outed to the world for doing something even worse than they did last time.”

Will Captain America: White ever happen? Loeb said “Captain America: White” should be finished in time for the movie, and he and the artist recognize that there have been delays.

So there you have it folks! Quite a lot of info there, some of it kind of exciting. Anyone else stoked for the return of Rom, Space Knight? I know I am.Keep your eyes peeled as we attempt to do more round ups for you, and don’t forget to check our source, Comic Book Resouces, for even more comic book fun.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
