SDCC: Red Hulk ("Rulk") to Join Avengers With "Avengers #7"

In a move that drew gasps and many mean spirited comments from comic fans around the globe, Brian Michael Bendis announced in Marvel’s The Heroic Age: Avengers panel that the much lamented Red Hulk (Jeph Loeb’s worst creation ever) will be joining the Avengers with November’s Avengers #7.

Seriously.

The character who was revealed to be “Thunderbolt” Ross (Bruce Banner’s nemesis and once father-in-law) is “the character most need of redemption. We will see where he fits in the Marvel Universe after all that he has done” according to Bendis (via Newsarama), and could be given new life (first life?) in Bendis’ capable hands.

As it stands right now, I’m highly on the skeptical side, but I’ll keep reading and hoping that Bendis can somehow make it work. If not…well, that gives me a good reason to drop the book.
