This November, Jeff Parker returns to the world of Flash Gordon in “Flash Gordon” #1, ‘King’s Cross’. He’s joined by artist Jesse Hamm, who’s also co-writing the script, and colorist Grace Allison. The new story finds Flash Gordon teaming up with The Phantom and Mandrake the Magician to battle a “terraforming threat”.
Jeff Parker, of course, worked on the 2014 “Flash Gordon” series with Evan Shaner (they’re currently collaborating on the DC/Hanna-Barbera series, “Future Quest”), and the 2013 event, “King’s Watch,” with Marc Laming, so he has familiarity and clout with the character. [Flash is] “the goofy grinning character he was born to script,” Crosby continues.
“It’s fun to be working with Jeff again,” Jess Hamm says. “Grace Allison’s colors look wonderful, and this tale’s been a blast to draw — loaded with awful villains, creepy places, and swashbuckling adventure!”
The five-issue limited series will arrive this November in “Flash Gordon” #1, and promises to be a “bounding bravura barnstormer bereft of boredom and brimming with bounties of ballistic brilliance.”
