Via Screen Rant, Dark Horse Comics imprint Berger Books have announced writer Christopher Cantwell, artist Martin Morazzo, and colorist Miroslav Mrva are reuniting for “She Could Fly: Fight or Flight,” the third and final chapter of their dark superhero tale. Unlike the first two entries, “She Could Fly” and “The Lost Pilot,” this will not be a miniseries, but an original graphic novel arriving in comic book stores on October 6, and in bookstores on October 19.
“She Could Fly” began in 2018, and tells the story of Luna, a teenage girl whose delicate mental state unravels further after the death of a flying woman. “Fight or Flight” will pick up with Luna after undergoing brain surgery for her mental health issues: now she must deal with a flying villain hellbent on wreaking havoc in her life and hometown. According to Dark Horse’s solicitation, Luna will attempt to fly herself, culminating in a battle that “will all take place above the city skyline.”
The series marked the first foray into comic book writing from Cantwell, who also penned “Everything” and “The Mask: I Pledge Allegiance To The Mask” for Dark Horse. Editor Karen Berger stated, “Luna finally gets to fly, and we fly with her in this storytelling tour-de-force from Christopher, Martin and Mirsolav. It’s an emotional and thrilling finale that totally captured my heart.”
