What’s better than Maximum Carnage? SUPERIOR Carnage!

Announced at Hero Complex, Kevin Shinick (of Robot Chickenand Stephen Segovia (recently of X-Treme X-Men) will be collaborating on a five-part mini-series this summer entitled “Superior Carnage.” Featuring everyone’s favorite maniac with a symbiote, the book finds Carnage fresh out of the microverse and catatonic in a prison, and recent Fantastic Four mega-menace the Wizard has decided to try and utilize Carnage in the same way that the US Government is using Agent Venom.

Shinick, more known for comedy than comics, promises that that’s going to be a part of the book although not the main one, which is certainly interesting. The last few Carnage-focused minis have had aspects of humor to them but mostly focused on the darker aspects of the character; with Shinick essentially parodying both “Superior Spider-Man” and “Venom” stories and trends of late, it’ll be very intriguing to see how he weaves comedy in the midst of the abject nightmare that is a Carnage-lead story.

“Superior Carnage” debuts in July.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
