You like free comics, right? Hell, everyone likes free comics. You’re getting stories for free, what’s not to like? Well, Si Spurrier, the writer behind such things as “Six Gun Gorilla” and “X-Men Legacy”, and German Erramouspe have a free webcomic for you. It launched today and it’s titled “Disenchanted” and you can check it out here. And it’s totally free. So why not?

But if you’re still not convinced, let me give you this quote from Spurrier’s write-up about the comic.

What we’ve got here are non-glittery, non-wanky, non-wish-granting faeries. What we’ve got here are substance-abusing, bar-brawling, civil-rights-demanding, murder-committing faeries. The good kind. The old kind.

If that doesn’t have you interested, I don’t know what will. What Spurrier and Erramouspe are promising is a story that looks into the nature of belief and what happens when you’re not believed in anymore. With faeries. In miniature city built from trash in an abandoned tube station. Come on, people!

Again, check out “Disenchanted” here if you’re interested and keep a look out for the print collections of the series that will be dropping twice a year. You know, just in case you want to support the comic with actual money. Because you’re a nice person like that.

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
