Silk #1 Variant by Stacey Lee

The web of Spider-Verse continues to spread, as Silk – aka Cindy Moon, the other person bit by the spider that bit Peter Parker (see, Original Sin’s Spider-Man story) – gets her own ongoing series from writer Robbie Thompson and artist Stacey Lee. There are a number of reasons to be excited about this, and you can choose your own one. Dave Johnson covers? Oh, hell yes. Another woman character getting her own ongoing? Totally awesome. For me though, there’s one reason to be pumped.

Stacey Lee.

I know very little of her sequential work, but she created one of my favorite covers of the year in her cover to “Steed and Mrs. Peel: We’re Needed” #1, and that led me to check out her art online and damn, she is one phenomenally gifted artist. I mean, look below to see her variant to “Silk” #1. She’s a burgeoning superstar in my book, and this is one book you’ll want to follow if only for that reason.

This book arrives in February. Get excited, Spider fans.
