In the first issue of Dan Slott’s solo run on The Amazing Spider-Man, Slott began his run by having Doc Ock and Spidey near the end of a battle with the Avengers helping out and Doc Ock running off into the distance, only to be seen again in Invincible Iron Man torturing Tony right before Fear Itself began. Since then, Spidey has been dealing with his own issues in the event arc Spider-Island, which featured the return of a classic villain and everyone in Manhattan turning into Spiders.
Doc Ock was supposed to inevitably return, though; we’d seen it in the Amazing Spider-Man #654.1 teaser for what was to come, with “From Big Time to the End Times”:
So what does this mean? Is the end of Dan Slott’s run, perhaps? And is it safe to assume that the Sinister Six will be reformed and somewhat involved in this?
Man. Spidey just can’t catch a break.
