At San Diego Comic-Con’s Justice League panel, Scott Snyder revealed that he and frequent collaborator Jock will be bringing back The Batman Who Laughs in a self-titled miniseries beginning this November. Snyder stated that he wanted to “get back to his horror roots” by writing the Batman/Joker hybrid from the Dark Multiverse, that debuted in his and Greg Capullo’s “Dark Nights: Metal” event. Snyder told the crowd, “The Batman Who Laughs is coming back and he’s got a big plan, and he’s bringing a new Dark Knight with him – another evil version of Bruce. A version of Batman where Bruce kills Joe Chill with his own gun the night his parents were killed. A Punisher who isn’t broke.” Snyder and Jock have previously collaborated at DC on ‘The Black Mirror’ arc in “Detective Comics” before The New 52, as well as issues of “All-Star Batman.” They also co-created “Wytches” together over at Image Comics.

Other information revealed at the panel included:

– Snyder showcased that issue #6 of “Justice League” would focus on the Joker. He also revealed that the second arc of his “Justice League” run would begin in issue #10 and focus on Aquaman and Wonder Woman. The arc, illustrated by Francis Manapul, will be called ‘Drowned Earth,’ and will tie into Kelly Sue DeConnick and Robson Rocha’s upcoming “Aquaman” run.

– James Tynion IV and Alvaro Martinez’s “Justice League Dark” run will include appearances from John Constantine, Doctor Fate (both the Kent Nelson and Khalid Nassour versions of the character), with emphasis on the Lords of Order. Blue Devil is also set to make an appearance. Many magical characters will appear, though the team’s roster will stay fairly stagnant. Tynion also teased the previously announced ‘The Witching Hour’ crossover.

– Joshua Williamson talked about his and Stjepan Sejic’s upcoming “Justice League Odyssey” run, teasing that “The Ghost Sector (introduced in ‘Justice League: No Justice’) is the Wild West of the DCU, it’s the most dangerous part of the DCU.” Williamson addressed the series being pushed back two months, and two full issues being scrapped, saying, “We decided we needed to step back and push it back to be able to really tell this story as big as we want to tell it.” He also said that Darkseid is the “heart and soul of the book.”

– Snyder confirmed that Dan Abnett and Brandon Peterson’s “Titans” would operate out of the Hall of Justice.

– Adam Glass also teased that his “Teen Titans” run will not have their headquarters in a “T-shaped” tower or in the Hall of Justice, but in a “converted youth detention center.”

“Justice League Dark” #1 is out next week on July 25th, along with “Teen Titans” #20. The next issue of “Justice League,” “Justice League” #5, comes out August 1. “Titans” #24 arrives August 8th. “Justice League Odyssey” #1 comes out August 29th. “The Batman Who Laughs” #1 will be out in November.
