Charles Soule Leaving “Daredevil” with ‘The Death of Daredevil’

“Daredevil” writer Charles Soule has announced he is ending his run on the title with the ominously titled ‘The Death of Daredevil.’ The final story, illustrated by Phil Noto, will run from October’s issue #609, through to #612 in November. In a short video announcement, Soule said that he will be continuing the tradition of leaving Daredevil in “terrible situations” for the next writer to fix. He started writing “Daredevil” in the wake of “Secret Wars” in 2015 with artist Ron Garney, where he had played clean-up in the wake of Mark Waid and Chris Samnee’s run, which left Daredevil in San Francisco with everyone knowing his secret identity. How Charles Soule will leave the title remains to be seen, but he implied he’s going for a pretty dire set of circumstances for the Man Without Fear. Here are the solicitations for the issues as posted over the last couple months:

“Daredevil” #609 – On Sale 10/17/18
The eleventh hour draws near as Matt Murdock prepares to square off against the Kingpin of Crime!
