“Southern Bastards” in Development at FX

Word broke late last night that “Southern Bastards,” the incredible Jason Aaron/Jason Latour comic published by Image, has been acquired by Scott Rudin for a potential series at FX. The Deadline story that broke the news claims that both Aaron and Latour will be involved in the adaptation, which hopefully is correct. Incorrect is the claim that Aaron and Latour co-write the series, or that it is a ‘graphic novel,’ but that’s a soap box for another day.

This is a great opportunity for the Jasons, who are both incredibly nice guys and who produce one of the best comics out there each month. Plus, with the recent Justified and Sons of Anarchy finales, FX is missing programming set below the Mason Dixon line.

Finally, this hopefully will also mean that these shirts will be all the rage in the fall of 2016.

Congrats to the Jasons!
