Image is seemingly always releasing new and exciting books, but collaborations between people like writer Becky Cloonan and artist Andy Belanger is something that stands out amongst even the most notable of their releases. Their new book, “Southern Cross“, is a new sci-fi series from the pair that has its first issue drop on March 11th, and here’s what it’s all about:

Now boarding: Southern Cross, tanker flight 73 to Titan. Alex Braith is on board retracing her sister’s steps to the refinery moon, hoping to collect her remains and find some answers. The questions keep coming though—How did her sister die? Where did her cabin mate disappear to? Who is that creep across the hall? And why does she always feel like she’s being watched?

We’re really excited about it, especially with Belanger sharing on Twitter in the past that this is some of his best work ever. Even better? The book’s going to have some stellar variant covers, including this one shared by our friends at Big Bang Comics in Dublin, Ireland. This shop is one of the most progressive comic shops around, supporting new creators and titles as much as anyone, and this cover – from the brilliant Matt Taylor (check out his website for more of his incredible art) – is specifically for them and a handful of other shops. Check it out.

Limited to only 1,000 copies, this beauty will be tough to find, but it’s just another reason to pick up this book (either for this cover or one of the other covers that will be coming out for it) when it drops. Thanks to the team at Big Bang Comics for sharing this piece, and keep an eye out for it in select stores in March.
