At their “Spider-Man” panel on Friday at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel announced two ongoing series and three miniseries spinning out of their upcoming “Spider-Geddon” event. The main series, as previously announced, will be written by Christos Gage and Dan Slott with art from Jorge Molina, with an “Edge of Spider-Geddon” prelude series set to begin in August. “Spider-Geddon” #0 comes out in September and #1 debuts in October alongside all of these announced series. The panel also highlighted Nick Spencer and Ryan Ottley’s recently relaunched “Amazing Spider-Man” and Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s “Venom.” The five new series and details can be found below.

First up, after teasing it late last week, Marvel confirmed a new “The Superior Octopus” ongoing, written by Christos Gage with art by Mike Hawthorne and covers by Travis Charest. The series is set to star Doc Ock in the cloned body he obtained at the end of ‘Dead No More.’ Editor Nick Lowe promised a shock “every five-pages,” explaining, “If you read ‘Superior Spider-Man,’ you know that when Doc Ock was in Peter Parker’s body, he used supervillain methods to be a superhero — you’re going to see more of that. Every five pages you’re going to see something that will shock you — it will either appall you or make you cheer.”

Next up is “Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider,” debuting the alternate universe Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman’s new superhero name. The series will be written by Seanan McGuire (Star Wars: Canto Bight, Every Heart a Doorway) and artist Rosi Kampe (“Genius: Cartel,” “Civil War II: Choosing Sides”) with covers by Bengal. Editor Devin Lewis said that Gwen’s mission in “Spider-Geddon” is “critical.” Gwen’s prior series, “Spider-Gwen” from Robbi Rodriguez and Jason Latour wrapped this last week.

A three-issue miniseries, “Spider-Girls,” will star Mayday Parker from the MC2 universe, Anya Corazon from the main Marvel Universe, and Annie Parker from the current “Renew Your Vows” universe. The series will be written by “Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows” writer Jody Houser and artist Andres Genolet (“Sweet Valley High”) with covers by Yasmine Putri.

Another three-issue miniseries, “Spider-Force,” sees former “Spider-Man” writer and editor, Christopher Priest, return to the character alongside artist Paulo Siquiera with covers by Shane Davis. The Spider-Force team, a play on the classic X-Force, is led by Kaine and also consists of Jessica Drew, Ashley Barton (Hawkeye’s daughter from “Old Man Logan”), and two new characters, Astro-Spider and Spider-Kid. The solicit for the issue teases the team will go on a suicide mission as part of ‘Spider-Geddon.’

Finally, there’s “Vault of Spiders,” a two-issue anthology series tying into “Spider-Geddon” will tell the story of Web Slinger, a Spider-Man from the Wild West, Supaidaman (the Spider-Man from the ’70s Japanese live-action show), and many more. Some of the creators attached to the book are Cullen Bunn, Jed MacKay, Javier Pulido, and Sheldon Vella, with more to be announced. Covers will be by Giuseppe Caumuncoli

Marvel also announced the return of David Micheline to Venom, a character he co-created with Todd MacFarlane in 1988, in the first “Venom Annual.” Micheline will have a story alonside series writer Cates and other creators including Jeff Loveness, Tigh Walker, and Ron Lim.
