Spider-Man 2099 Is The Third Shattered Dimension!

Remember that little game we discussed? Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions? In it, Spider-Man travels between four different universes, battling all sorts of foes. We have the Earth 616 Spidey, Spidey Noir, and now… Spider-Man 2099! Yes, everyone’s favorite whacky 90’s idea is now going to be somewhat relevant again as Spider-Man makes his triumphant return in the future.

For those that don’t know, 2099 was a cyberpunk dystopia in which most of our heroes and villains had been recast with crazy techno versions of their previous selves. This included Doctor Doom, the Punisher, and Ghost Rider as well as others, and the entire series had a rather waning popularity. I myself have several scattered and random issues of different 2099 series, including 2099 #1 with a sweet foil cover that’s all shiny and pretty. Long story short? It was very 90’s.

However, we will now be able to swing around in the crazy cyberpunk future of New York as Spider-Man. So that’s cool, or something.

Any guesses on the final universe? For some reason I think it’s 1602, but I’m willing to bet that’s probably wrong.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
