Sony Pictures and Marvel Entertainment have released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home:
The second Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland will see Peter Parker embark on a trip to Europe with his schoolmates, hoping to get a break from his great responsibility. However, after Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) makes a dramatic entrance in his and Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon)’s hotel room in Venice, Peter is forced to suit up once again to help contain a group of monsters known as the Elementals who are popping up all over the continent. We’re also introduced to Quentin Blake/Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), with and without his classic fishbowl helmet, taking on the role of a new superhero.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel looks as Ramones-infused as the first, while Michael Giacchino’s arrangement of the classic ’60s Spider-Man theme also makes a prominent appearance. The trailer also shows love is in the air, with Peter and Michelle (Zendaya)’s romance blossoming, while Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) have started a relationship. We also briefly see the black stealth Spider-Man suit, and the introduction of the classic comics dynamic where Flash Thompson (Tony Revolori) idolizes Spider-Man, unaware he’s actually his favorite victim.
Sony have also released the film’s teaser poster, giving us more insight into what locations to expect from the film:
