Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer #2 Shows Peter Losing His Cool, His Suit

It’s a big week for hyping those superhero blockbuster films, as we’ve seen both a Justice League trailer and Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer released within the same week! That’s right, the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer is here and it’s pretty darn good.

It’s really good, but we all knew what we were getting when they announced this trailer was coming, whether that’s because this is like the 24th Spider-Man movie or 117th Marvel movie; we know the formula.

The real standout moments of the trailer tend to be the little things you see Marvel innovate on, such as the technology in the new suit, or Peter’s relationship with Ganke, I mean Ned. We haven’t seen a best friend type relationship be central to a story, especially not something in a high school setting.

Let’s all take a moment now to note that Michael Keaton is awesome. Even in the few short moments he has in this trailer, he bleeds charisma. The former Batman has one of the most reinvigorated careers in Hollywood, and his take on The Vulture looks to be no exception.

It is a little weird to see Robert Downey Jr. playing Uncle Tony Ben Stark though. The advice giving, mentor billionaire of this trailer seems a far cry from the Iron Man of “Demon in a Bottle.” It isn’t necessarily wrong, just odd to see the playboy playing dad.

Tone-wise though, this is fairly standard Marvel. It doesn’t seem like there is any reinventing the wheel going one here. It’s actually quite in line with the posters they put out at the end of last week.
