Spider-Man’s Musical Will Be … … Interesting?

So this morning on Good Morning America, Julie Taymor debuted the first look ever at Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. I should warn you: going into a musical called “turn off the dark” alone should be a hint at the quality of musical you will be seeing, but if it’s not enough you have the first song above (entitled “Boy Falls From The Sky” – oof), and the first look at the musical’s Green Goblin below:

Well. That’s certainly something. Julie Taymor is known for Across the Universe and Frida, both of which are rather popular and neither of which I liked. With the help of U2 and Bono specifically, my interest in this isn’t very high, and the song and character design don’t change that much. But hey, you might love it. You might think the Joshua Tree is the greatest album ever recorded! Me? I can’t say my excitement for this went up at all.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
