I would argue that out of all the new Stan Lee character books announced, Soldier Zero is the one we at MC are most excited for. Why? Quite simply, Paul Cornell is on writing details. Put Cornell into anything and he’ll turn into gold, as fellow writer Josh Mocle once said to me. That’s a statement I’ll stand by, and all of MC’s copies of Captain Britain, Dark Reign: Young Avengers, and Action Comics will attest to that.

Today, BOOM! Studios revealed the various covers you can get to Soldier Zero, the first of Stan Lee’s new character deal at BOOM!, which will be out in October with art by Javier Pina. Take a look below for the press release, and behind the cut for all the covers!

BOOM! Studios and POW! Entertainment unveiled Stan Lee’s SOLDIER ZERO at a press conference during Comic-Con International 2010 last month. It was there that fans learned that ACTION COMICS writer Paul Cornell and SUPERMAN artist Javier Pina would be joining Stan as writer and artist on the ongoing SOLDIER ZERO series. The A and B covers to SOLDIER ZERO #1 by Trevor Hairsine and Dave Johnson respectively were also unveiled that day.

For the full press release, please check behind the cut.

Today, the full slate of covers for SOLDIER ZERO #1 can now be revealed! This includes the special 1-in-300 variant cover that will be signed by Stan Lee.

In addition to SOLDIER ZERO, Stan Lee also announced he’d be joining BOOM! Studios to create two other new ongoing superhero series, THE TRAVELER and STARBORN, all shipping this Fall.

THE TRAVELER, written by Eisner Award-nominee and BOOM! Studios Chief Creative Officer Mark Waid with art by AMAZING SPIDER-MAN artist Chad Hardin, features a mysterious new superhero with time-traveling powers battling the Split-Second Men, super-powered assassins from the future. THE TRAVELER ships this November.

STARBORN, written by iZOMBIE’s Chris Roberson with art by SPIDER-MAN’s Khary Randolph, tells the story of a regular guy who discovers he’s the heir to an intergalactic empire, putting him at the center of a war between five alien races. STARBORN ships this December.

The SOLDIER ZERO solicitation appeared in the August issue of Diamond Previews letting fans know about this not-to-be missed publishing event of the year.
