Via IGN, Marvel have announced “Star Wars: Crimson Reign,” a five-issue miniseries by writer Charles Soule and artist Steven Cummings (“Champions”), that will continue the story of the crossover event ‘War of the Bounty Hunters.’ It will focus on the criminal organization Crimson Dawn and Qi’ra, the Solo: A Star Wars Story character played by Emilia Clarke, who returned in the pages of the story.

Soule told IGN, “While Qi’ra plays a huge part in ‘War of the Bounty Hunters,’ that event is really a Boba Fett story. I have a bigger story I’m going to tell with Qi’ra and Crimson Dawn, and it’s all connected to the reasons she kicked things off in ‘War of the Bounty Hunters’ in the first place. You’ll learn more about that in the closing pages of ‘War of the Bounty Hunters’ #5, out in October, and I think fans have no idea how exciting and new this story will feel.”

He added, “From the moment I took the gig writing ‘Star Wars,’ I wanted to do new things in the ‘Star Wars’ timeline between Episodes V and VI, using new characters from all eras of the galaxy far, far away. ‘Crimson Reign,’ which continues what I plan as a trilogy that began with ‘War of the Bounty Hunters,’ is a great example of how I like to write ‘Star Wars’ stories. Everything and everyone is fair game, and I think people are really going to enjoy it. Await the Reign.”

“Crimson Reign” #1 will be released in November, a month after ‘War of the Bounty Hunters’ concludes. In further Marvel Star Wars news, the company revealed a “Life Day” one-shot also being released in November, which will contain four stories respectively written by Cavan Scott, Justina Ireland, Jody Houser, and Steve Orlando. The stories’ framing device will see Han Solo and Chewbacca being cornered by the enemy, and Chewie refusing to “give up hope, remembering the lessons” of the Wookiee holiday “past and present.” The only confirmed artist at the time of writing is Ivan Fiorelli.
