Marvel will debut a new Star Wars comic titled “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” this April. The five-issue mini-series, written by Ethan Sacks (“Star Wars: Age of Republic Special”) and illustrated by Will Sliney (“Beckett,” “Solo: A Star Wars Story”) with cover art created by Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm artists, will act as a tie-in to the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, scheduled to open later this year.
“Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” will take place on the planet of Bantuu, future site of the Disney parks and previously featured in Star Wars: Thrawn: Alliances. Readers will be introduced to Dok-Ondar, the Ithorian proprietor of the most notorious antiquities shop in the galaxy, as the First Order reaches Bantuu’s Black Spire Outpost on the edge of wild space. According to the official announcement, the key to saving Black Spire Outpost could involve a job pulled long ago by Han Solo and Chewbacca.

In an interview with StarWars.com, Sacks explained, “Our series will give fans the chance to visit Black Spire Outpost months ahead of voyaging to Batuu in person. Armed with top-secret sketches and information from Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm, we are keeping this authentic to the spirit of this rich new setting.”
“Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” can be reserved at your local comic book store, or preordered wherever comics are sold.
