At New York Comic Con’s Lucasfilm Publishing panel, the company announced “Star Wars: Sana Starros,” a Marvel Comics miniseries starring the human smuggler of the same name. An artist for the series was not specified, but it will be written by Star Wars book veteran Justina Ireland, and begin in February 2023. Originally introduced in Jason Aaron and John Cassaday’s 2015 “Star Wars” run, Sana is a member of the Rebellion, who has a romantic history with both Han Solo and Doctor Aphra.

At the High Republic panel, it was revealed the manga “The Edge of Balance” will continue with the third volume, “Precedent,” in May 2023. Daniel José Older, who co-wrote the second volume with Shima Shinya, will continue the series with artist Tomio Ogata (“Devil May Cry 5: Visions of V”). The series originally centered around the young Jedi Knight Lily Tora-Asi, but as Phase II of the High Republic is set 150 years earlier, it is unclear at this time who will be the new protagonist. The cover was also revealed for the one-shot “The High Republic Adventures: Quest of the Jedi,” releasing from Dark Horse Comics in February 2023. The comic, written by Claudia Gray with art by Fico Ossio, follows a pair of Jedi searching for the Echo Stone on the planet Angcord.

Furthermore, the panel revealed many of the High Republic prose and comics writers will contribute to a young adult anthology, “connecting to every era of the initiative,” including Phase III. It will be released in July 2023. Marvel “Star Wars” writer Charles Soule, who is among those working on the anthology, is also working with his daughter Rosemary on a children’s book, Yoda and the Younglings. Due out in October 2023, the book will co-star the Wookiee Jedi Burryaga Agaburry.

Lastly, it was revealed next year will see the release of Rise of the Red Blade, a prose novel by Delilah S. Dawson. It will follow Iskat, a survivor of Order 66, who joins the Inquisitors to uncover her past.
