In the fight of good against evil, sometimes the lines can be blurred. At least that’s the approach that Marvel Comics and Star Wars are taking in their newly announced Empire-focused series, “Star Wars: TIE Fighter,” set to debut in April 2019.

Star Wars: TIE Fighter

In the five-part mini-series, written by Jody Houser (“Star Wars: Thrawn,” “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) with art by Rogê Antônio and other acclaimed artists, fans will get to know the Imperial side of the story through the adventures of an elite squadron of TIE fighter pilots, known as Shadow Wing, during the last days of the Galactic Civil War following the events of Return of the Jedi.

Additionally, the mini-series will act as a crossover with Alexander Freed’s previously announced, forthcoming novel, Alphabet Squadron, which was revealed today to be the first in a trilogy. According to publisher Del Ray Books, Alphabet Squadron will tell the story of a group of X-wing pilots ordered to track down “a mysterious lethal force of TIE fighters” by General Hera Syndulla of Rebels fame.

“Star Wars: TIE Fighter” will also include cover art created by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Elia Bonetti (“Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith”). Fans can reserve a copy at their local comic book store, or wherever comics are sold.
