Mad Cave Studios have unveiled the creative team behind its latest title, “Stargazer,” a sci-fi coming-of-age comic set to debut this May. Writer Anthony Cleveland (“Show’s End,” “DreamSpace”) and artist Antonio Fuso (“Wyrd,” “Clankillers”) will be working with the rest of the “Clankillers” creative team, colorist Stefano Simeone and letterer Justin Birch on the title.

The series operates in two eras. Four children were abducted by aliens and implanted with destructive, species-destroying technology twenty years ago. Now those same aliens have come back to take their weapons, leaving their adult hosts in precarious danger.

“From the moment we started playing with the idea of ‘Stargazer,’ I knew this was going to be a special book,” said Mad Cave’s Editor-in-Chief Chris Fernandez. “Whether you’re into coming of age stories like Stand by Me or UFO classics like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, ‘Stargazer’ has something for you.”

“Anthony Cleveland does an amazing job blending the feel of a vintage blockbuster with all of the impact of a modern-day sci-fi thriller,” said Fuso. “You’ll love this book as much as I love working on it.”

“I truly enjoyed crafting the personal stakes for each character in comparison to the massive cosmic conflict going on above their heads,” Cleveland explained. “What comes from that is an emotional story that I can’t wait to see readers respond to.”

“Stargazer” #1 hits shelves this May: see more in solicits to come.
