Still No Green Lantern In August

As we noted in our speculation article predicting the end of the War of the Green Lanterns, there are no new Green Lantern titles past June’s #67, which promises to “change everything.” That’s two months of no new Geoff Johns Green Lantern content due to whatever cataclysmic actions take place at the end of the story, which in turn leads to a Bedard written aftermath as the other two Green Lantern titles continue on.

So what’s going on? We had previously speculated that Hal Jordan would not want to be a Green Lantern anymore, instead choosing to officially become a Guardian or just quit altogether. And isn’t there a death? We can now confirm that Kyle, John, and Guy all make it through alive, as Kyle appears on the latest GLC cover with John on the previous ones, and Guy on every cover for Emerald Warriors. After 73 issues of success, is Johns going to … kill Hal Jordan?

No, probably not. But it’d be pretty ballsy if he did, wouldn’t it?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
