Superman’s First Appearance Soars Back to the Top

In an ever growing period of escalation, a copy of Action Comics #1 (the first appearance of Superman) sold for a record setting amount of $1.5 million on ComicsConnect.com. This is on the heels of Detective Comics #27 breaking the record in Feburary which had just been set two days by another copy of Action Comics #1. In a period of 2 months, the most expensive comic jumped from $317,000 (for another, presumably poorer quality copy of Action Comics #1) to this new number of $1.5 million. Quite the increase from the cover price of 10 cents.

Speculators assume that this is the peak for at least a little while: what other comic could top it? Little do they know I’m about to put my near-mint run of Rom: Space Knight up for auction, which assuredly set off a bidding war the likes the world has never known. Get excited America.
