DC has recently announced that they will be releasing a DVD collecting all the shorts that are on all their other DVDs. You know, in case you didn’t buy their DVDs to get them the first time. As an additional incentive to re-buying all the animated shorts, they’re planning to include a brand new short that lasts about 22-minutes starring Shazam and Superman!
According to a report from Newsarama, the short will “show how young Billy Batson crosses paths with Clark Kent… only to gain mysterious powers from an elderly wizard, as well as a murderous foe in the form of Black Adam. Jerry O’Connell will reprise his role the Big Red Cheese, while George Newburn will reprise his role as Superman from the Justice League cartoons.” The return of voices is definitely cool, and I’m sure it will be fun to see a young Billy Batson interact with Clark Kent. Whether or not it’s worth buying the DVD for one half hour cartoon is up for debate though.
Look for the DVD to come out on November 9th from DC Entertainment.
