Lucasfilm have released the trailer for the second half of Star Wars Rebels season four, the final chapter of the Disney XD series:

The trailer’s first half is mostly a montage of the previous seasons, focusing on Ezra and Kanan’s journey to becoming Jedi, Ezra’s Force ability to commune with animals, and Sabine Wren’s mastery of the Darksaber. Almost abruptly, it segues into footage from the second half of season four, revealing:

– Kanan will cut his hair, and Hera will hate it.
– Grand Admiral Thrawn will launch a new devastating bombing raid on Lothal.
The Emperor is making an appearance.
– The Imperial complex on Lothal raising into the air.
– A glowing mosaic of the Father, the Son and the Daughter, the Force entities from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The trailer ends with Ezra confronting a hologram of the Emperor, surrounded by Lothal wolves and igniting his green lightsaber, promising “One last lesson.” At Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Dave Filoni elaborated on the decision to bring in Darth Sidious, explaining he is the big bad, and that “He’s a sophisticated villain. That makes you more worried for Ezra. I wanted something more insidious than perhaps lightsaber play. The Emperor can appear so many different ways. He can seem frail at times or powerful at times. He’s the ultimate deceiver, and he plays on your own wants and greeds.”

We also have a poster for the final episodes:

Star Wars Rebels returns on Disney XD in a month’s time on Monday, February 19. There will only be two more hour-long episodes before the 90-minute finale. But fret not, Star Wars fans, for Filoni announced at last year’s Celebration Orlando that a new animated Star Wars project was already in the works. There’s also another season of Forces of Destiny due this year, and there’s also a live-action TV series in the works for Disney’s new streaming service, which shall be launched at the end of 2019.
