So, as the story goes, Geoff Johns was appointed Chief Creative Officer, and with this title came all sorts of fun new responsibilities and tasks. One of them was to push DC characters into new mediums and get them more out in the world, even the more obscure characters. So he teamed up with Akiva Goldsman, writer/director/producer on the television show Fringe, and the two of them came up with a series of alternate world comic covers where something was a tad bit off.

And lo and behold, as promised, DC posted all the alternate reality covers. Created in collaboration with Hank Kanalz and a slew of talented artists, these hilarious covers are placed in the show for the hardcore DC fans that happen to be watching.

Click behind the cut for the remaining DC covers and, as Johns says on the DC site, feel free to harass Hank Kanalz if you’d like to see these comics actually made!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
