Last week, ET posted an exclusive first look at the filming of Thor, which is currently going on. Showing most of it’s scenes revolving around New Mexico (which we saw at the end of Iron Man 2), the set gives us a quick look at Odin, Asgard, and even a tiny moment with Heimdall in it – although the main focus is on Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman. Take a look:

Now, I don’t want to infer too much, but I do believe you can glean a few elements of the plot from this video – mainly that SHIELD has apparently quarantined off an area and Donald Blake has to break in. Is it possible that the movie takes place before the end of Iron Man 2, and somewhere in between they meet up as Thor is cast out of Asgard to learn humility, which then leads to some kind of a showdown where Blake has to fight to get his hammer? Who knows. Just speculation. Either way, the movie is looking interesting so far, and it will definitely be a lot of fun to watch come the day.

Thor opens in theaters everywhere May 6, 2011.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
