It looks like comic fans have even more video game adaptations to look forward to outside of the capes and tights sect.

Telltale Games, the company behind the wonderfully fun and challenging Sam and Max games (as well as others, like Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, and new Monkey Island) have announced that they will be working on game adaptations of the Walking Dead (based on the AMC show vs. the comic, it looks like) as well as a Fables game as they enter into an exclusive contract with Warner Bros. Interactive. The basic policy they have is to push the games 100% digitally, insisting that fans of games do not need to own physical copies of the games to enjoy them. This fairly strongly insinuates that their games will be cross platform, and could be available from anything from your videogame consoles, your laptop, or even your iPad (as most of their games are currently available in various fashions along these lines).

Either way, a Fables game along the adventure platform could be rather fun. A Walking Dead game doesn’t seem like the type you’d see from the company that primarily operates with think puzzles and cutscenes, but it’ll be interesting to see what they churn out.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
